We were delighted to be contacted by painting collector from Switzerland (formerly of,Qld,Australia)who had purchased one of my oil paintings.
A-M likes to look for Australian works overseas and made this purchase at a Red Cross outlet near Berne.The oil painting is of Mt Buffalo area titled Australian Mountain Country dated 1991 and has been framed by Beth.Apparently it has warmth and light to help her during darker winter days in Switzerland.Copy attached.
A-M also sent a photo of a good example of Hermansberg aboriginal watercolour painting of the Namatjira style.This group of aboriginal painters changed the way we looked at the outback although using conventional watercolour methods around 1930/50s .The movement is well documented and is around the Macdonnell Ranges area in central Australia.Copy is also attached.
